Hawaii Trip - 6/1/2008 - Sleeping Giant, Wailua Falls, Lydgate State Park, The Beach House

On Sunday morning, James, his dad, and Jeff went on a hike up the Sleeping Giant (a mountain whose profile looks like a sleeping giant). They left pretty early and enjoyed good exercise, bonding time, and some great views.

Meanwhile, Mom had arranged for us girls to get massages (Thanks mom!). The guy came to the house and set up the massage table right on the lanai. While Rachel and mom got their massages done I took Raquel into town and did a little shopping. It was nice to get away and spend a little time just with Quellie. When I got back I enjoyed my massage. It was a little bit painful because of my sunburn, but the guy was really good and it was really cool to get a massage outside.
After the guys got back we enjoyed some lunch and then drove up to the Wailua Falls. These were the falls that were used in the opening of "Fantasy Island." The overlook was pretty crowded, but we were able to get some good pictures.

Then we drove a little ways to Lydgate Park where there was a nice beach and some great swimming.

After the girls got sick of being in the water we went down to the playground and let them get some energy out. Then it was back to the house for some dinner and bed time.

Sunday night was our night to go out alone and we had reservations at 8:30 at The Beach House. We left the house at around seven hoping to catch the sunset over the water. We didn't make it to the coast in time, but we did enjoy some nice views.

A bit of the sunset remained when we got to the coast

We stopped at the Spouting Horn where there is a hole in the rock so when the waves crash in the water shoots into the air like a geyser.

Then we headed to the restaurant and waited in the bar for our table to be ready. The restaurant was open air and right on the ocean. We got a great table outside on the patio. It was really beautiful, but the breeze was very cool. We enjoyed a good dinner and then headed home exhausted.
